Image-Guided Superficial Radiotherapy (SRT) or Image-Guided SRT, is a non-surgical treatment option for non-melanoma skin cancer that uses low amounts of radiation, causing damage and ultimately, the death of cancer cells, allowing healthy tissue to grow back in its place. This treatment option is a painless treatment that will have no impact on daily activities. Best of all, it has a 99 percent cure rate!
Basal Cell cancer is shown on top of the of the patient’s ear. The ultrasound image shows a large, dark area under the skin which indicates cancer.
Halfway through the treatment, the cancer has reduced in size externally. The ultrasound image shows that the cancer is being reduced internally as well.
Two weeks after treatment completion, the outside of the ear shows absolutely NO sign of cancer. The ultrasound image shows that the treatment continues to eliminate the cancer internally. At the 30-week follow-up appointment, the ultrasound shows no sign of skin cancer.
Over the past five years, more than 40,000 people have chosen Image-Guided SRT to treat their skin cancer. 6,500 of those patients participated in a satisfaction survey and more than 99.8% have said they were happy with their choice in treatment, they are ecstatic with the results and they would gladly recommend the treatment option to other patients.
