Botox

BOTOX® Cosmetic, a purified protein, is a non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in patients ages 18-65. BOTOX® Cosmetic treats the cause of these frown lines between the brows by reducing the muscle contractions (by blocking signals from the nerves to those muscles) that cause the lines to form over time.

IPL Photofacial

Unsightly leg veins can be a problem for millions of men and women. One type of leg vein issue is varicose veins, which are enlarged vessels that have widened as a result of weakness in the vein wall, which stretches and bulges. Spider veins, another issue, are the small superficial purple or red veins stretching like a web under the skin. Rosacea and sun damage are also issues that affect a person’s face, causing redness and other discoloration. IPL Photofacial treatments from the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation and Dr. David J. Congdon can help address these issues and give you healthy-looking skin.

Microdermabrasion

Skin Resurfacing

Skin abnormalities such as wrinkles, acne scars, and pigmentation issues can result from age, genetics and sun, and skin can also become looser over time. If you want to improve your skin’s appearance, skin rejuvenation or resurfacing may be right for you. Dr. Congdon can help bring a smoother, clearer and more youthful appearance to your skin through skin resurfacing treatments provided by the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation. These treatments include chemical peeling, laser surgery or dermabrasion, which can form part of a multifaceted approach to treating your specific skin issues.

Acne Scars

Severe acne can lead to serious and permanent scarring. Even less-severe cases can lead to scarring when left untreated. Acne scars occur when an acne lesion becomes so badly infected that it becomes a cyst that is located deep in the skin. When left untreated, these deep lesions can lead to an acne scar, which can appear as pitted areas or flattened areas of scarring that leave the skin’s surface uneven in appearance. They can be lighter in color or reddened in appearance compared to the surrounding skin and can become more prominent with age.

Spider Veins

Spider veins are small, enlarged, superficial blood vessels that commonly arise on the legs, but frequently occur on the face or other parts of the body. The appearance of spider veins varies widely from patient to patient. They can be red or blue, and they may look like a spider web or a tree with branches. The veins may be short, unconnected lines, each about the size of a large hair, or they may be connected in a matted “sunburst” pattern. Additionally, the veins can be small and inconspicuous or cover a large area of skin. Regardless of their appearance, they can affect a person’s confidence and cause uncomfortable itching, cramping and heaviness in the legs.

Rosacea

Often referred to as adult acne, rosacea causes redness and swelling on the face. This common skin disease may begin as a tendency to flush or blush easily and then progress to persistent redness in the center of the face. This redness may gradually involve the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose, and possibly the ears, chest and back. As the disease progresses, small blood vessels and tiny pimples begin to appear on and around the reddened area. While the exact cause of this skin disease is unknown, the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation and Dr. David J. Congdon offer a variety of rosacea treatments, including in-office and at-home methods that can help you reduce rosacea symptoms and control the disease.

Laser Hair Removal

Many people have unwanted hair on their face, legs, back, and other body areas. Despite trying other treatment methods, this hair often returns, requiring additional hair removal, as well as time and expense. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology from Dr. David J. Congdon and the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation offers a non-invasive way to remove unwanted hair, requiring little time commitment for the procedure or recovery. Best of all, this treatment is long-lasting, meaning you can get the look you want without multiple procedures!

Intensive Skin Care

Your skin needs can change with age, including throughout a given calendar year. That’s why the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation and Dr. David J. Congdon offer a variety of intensive skin care treatments to help your skin feel, and look, refreshed, renewed and vibrant.

Restylane

Restylane© is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane© is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA or non-animal-stabilized hyaluronic acid, which is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane© has been used in more than one million treatments in more than 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles, reduce the effects of aging, and to enhance the appearance and fullness of lips, and it’s available from the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation and Dr. David J. Congdon.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm® is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment for nasolabial folds (also known as smile lines) and other facial wrinkles available at the Cedar Valley Center for Rejuvenation from Dr. David J. Congdon. Typically injected into the cheek, facial tissue, lip, or perioral (the lower third of face) areas, Juvéderm® uses hyaluronic acid to add volume to the skin (as opposed to more traditional collagen-based injections). Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the human body and is modified for use in Juvéderm®, allowing the treatments to augment lips, eliminate wrinkles, and smooth out facial folds and provide a greater facial volume and fullness.

Sun-Damaged Skin

Sun damage, also known as photo aging, is caused by ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun and is the cause of most of the changes we associate with aging of the skin. In addition to premature aging of the skin, sun damage also increases your risk of skin cancer. Exposure to the sun accumulates over your lifetime and causes the skin to show the signs of aging prematurely. Age spots, sun-induced freckles, sagging skin, wrinkling and blemishes of benign brown pigment are evidence of sun damage. With sun damage, the skin becomes thicker and rougher, loses its elasticity, and develops uneven pigmentation.
